Crypteks USB: The DaVinci Code inspired physically locking USB storage device



Inspired by the "cryptex" device from "The DaVinci Code", Crypteks USB is the first physically lockable USB device that features a 256-bit AES Hardware Encryption, it also has a locking mechanism that features five aluminum twisting rings with letters of the alphabet which need to be set in the right combination in order to remove the stick from inside and offers some 14,348,907 possible combinations.

The Crypteks USB is made of ultra-high-grade aluminum alloy finished with a dimensions of 3.1" x 1.1" and features a unique anodized layer to help it to deal with fingerprints and dust. Offered in 4, 8, and 16GB capacities with 24 MB/s read and 10 MB/s write speeds via a USB 2.0 connection.

Crypteks USB is available via Kickstarter, which Crypteks has already obtained enough backing for production to begin and will ship orders in time for the holidays. Crypteks USB can be purchased in two versions the 8 GB for $130, or 16 GB for $160.
